Warm Up Series Vol 2 - Stability (Add-On)00A good warm up increases core body temperature, increases heart rate, and primes the neuromuscular system for training stress. This helps reduce the risk of injury and improves performance!
Just like for any other aspect of training, there is no single perfect warm up for everyone. Volume 2 of the Warm Up Series is a stability focus, and is a great way to improve "bracing", the concept of co-contracting muscle groups to stabilize the shoulders, spine, and pelvis. Strong bracing and rigidity is vital for both strength training and sport performance.
You may also perform 3-5 minutes of light aerobic activity (Jumping Jacks, Stationary Bike, Jump Rope, etc.) prior to beginning this warm up to help increase your heart rate and core body temperature.
Let's face it, everybody wants to skip their warm up. But a good warm up will help decrease risk of injury and improve performance. Take out the guesswork and follow along with EP's Warm Up Series!
